"My XP recognized the scanner using this driver; however I could not use the scanner. I kept getting a "twain driver missing" error."

"This file SETUP.EXE tries to activate CDSETUP.EXE which presumaby is found on the Umax driver CD. It is not included in this package, however, so the program errors out. If you have the CD, you don't need this. If you don't have the CD, this won't help you."

"Please note the left to right scroll bar at the bottom of the screen and scroll to the right. I downloaded to a zip disk so that I could run antivirus software on the download before I install it. From the look of previous posts it would appear people are not specific enough in the search process, impatient, and don't view where to look. It takes practice and patience.

"I've found out that XP works very well with the 1600U. I've installed the 3.55 vistascan but this does not work. Doing a further installation under XP I've also checked the 2xxxupdater.exe from Umax. Noppes, does not work. Ultimately I've found out that umaxscan.dll is needed. It is however not available on the XP-CD. Ask a friend, it is in a cab (DRIVER5.CAB) from windows

"Astra 2000U OS Windows Me with Dell Dimension 8100. No success after downloading this file. Still have to access the scanner through My Computer~clicking Umax Astra 2000U bringing up the Scanner and Camera Wizard. I can not turn off the scanner bulb!"
