"Driver alone worked well with XP, however Optis pro does not allow or has not modified their front end software to deal with XP and have been told that they are not planning on doing so. Hence the driver alone allows scanning perfectly with applications like word, excel and Photodraw but nothing else."

"Do not use this driver in Windows 2000 it will not work, the Optic Pro 4830 scanner only likes Win95 & 98."

"After spending some time, I did get this to work with Photoshop. It shows up as an import source. Sometimes I get the message that there are missing components, but shutting down Photoshop and starting it up again usually solves this. Thanks for the download; I wasn't able to use this scanner for over a year before getting it."

"Driver reports same error as original driver for for Windows 95. I.E. Scanner DLL not found. I tried this on a laptop running XP."

"Strange that this dirver actually does work with my european OP4830P, I also put on the original software from my original disc (Image-in does NOT work, but Recognita Standard 3.2 works perfectly). I'm a bit annoyed that plustek couldn't be bothered to bung an updated dll file for the original software to work, as my hardware is perfectly capable of handling it.
