"This driver worked for me. As always this site has provided me with the much needed driver support for the antiquated machines and relatively obsqure ( i know i spelled that wrong ) hardware I deal with on a continuing basis. "The driver (SJ661en) attempted to install and stopped, citing a fatal error. I then tried driver SJ660mu, which worked, recognized my HP 5100c scanner and let me run the very nice "HP ScanJet Copy Utility" program that I keep this old scanner around for."

"I bought the HP Scanjet 5200C a couple of years ago with Win 98SE drivers. It worked fine untill I upgraded to Windows XP. I downloaded this xp driver from internet, and struggled and struggled to get it to work, but without any luck. "PS use the Add Hardware wizard, not the add utility in scanners and cameras control panel, otherwise you'll go through the non-productive search for drivers, which will not be found on original CD's from these older HP scanners."

"Windows compatibility is the problem. I used my 5100c using the WIA setup in XP under scanner control panel. That was the fastest I had ever seen my scanner work! Now the scanner is shot, but it was great while it lasted. HP does suck indeed, so try Windows instead. "Yes, it did work! My hp scanjet 5100c is working under xp with the paralle cable... but not with this driver!!!!! Hints First, create the hp scsi (control panel, hardware, create.. scsi contrllers) file from w2k.. see variuos files for the scsi controler. "Ok this worked for me and my 5200c hasn't worked for years. 1- run sj661en.exe (yes the big file) 2- turn off computer and connect 5200c. 3- xp didn't find scanner but then run sj661mu.exe 4- shutdown & restart. 5- YELL AND SCREAM with joy when xp says 'have found HP 5200c'. Happy scanning KIDS."

"'i got the sucker to work a treat!'. Run the patch first, then restart. Then plug the HP 5200c scanner in via USB. Windows XP will recognise it. Then run the original software drivers for precision scan, wont allow USB only paralel, do it. Then run the patch again. It will ask to re-boot, let it. peace."

"When downloaded each time it was a whopping 0 bytes. Guess what, it puts an icon on the desktop, but that's all it is. An Icon only!"
