If you have used this printer over a network or have insatlled xp as an upgrade from 9x and find this download does not work, do the following, go to C \WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2 and rename all the *.dll files to *._ll or similar, ie ssgk2.dll to ssgk2._ll after you have done this, run this driver, and you will find it w

"Earlier events proved to be very eratic, the spooling failed to often, i tried the ML1210 driver and that is perfect, just downloaded the XP version from samsung, forget the 4550 driver, use the 1210"

"OK, To cure the new hardware problem at XP startup, download the ML1210 driver and install it. When XP starts and wants software for your ML4500, go to the printers list and use the recently installed 1210 driver which will be at the bottom of the list, use this one, windows will complain but make it use it anyway. Restart and the problem will be cured, now install the ML4

"hey I found the same prob a smost others ie no matter waht I did still got the 'found new hardware' on bootup. Sent Samsung an email and unlike others they responded quickly with this advice 'If a PC is running XP and is giving a message "New Hardware Found", even when the printer has been installed and is known to work, it is because XP is designed to control the addition

"Note Jim Sweeney's ML4500(English).exe, is identical to Simon Webb's 20010927112109ML4500(English).exe Works with my XP Home, when the original driver included with the printer caused a blue screen. Thanks!"

"Have tried this driver but sadly does not fix the "Found New Hardware" that XP Pro keeps comming up with on boot up, which is very annoying. Have also tried the Lexmark E210 solution but here too I have failed to fix the problem. "This driver installs easily and works perfectly. Hav it on W2K and XP - am able to share the printer as well. Get this annoying "Found new hardware" popup every time I restart - v. irritating as the hardware is fine. Anyone got any ideas on how to get rid of this???"

"At first the driver didn't work for me. This is what I did to make it work 1) Changed the extensions from .dll to _ll for these files ssgk2.dll ssgk2su.dll ssgk2ui.dll 2) Reloaded the driver and it worked! Good luck."

"It,s a piece of sh%t but not a driver for Windows XP Pro. Every time I boot up the computer I get the new hardware found wizard. The same result was with a driver on genuine samsung CD that came with the ML4500 printer.Result samsung -sucks."

"The driver seems to work correctly (Windows XP Pro. However it is showing in the device manager as not installed, and every time I boot up the computer I get the new hardware found wizard. "This driver didn't work for me. Whenever I tried to print, the program I tried to print from (Internet Explorer and Netscape and the printer test page program) crashed. BUT I read somewhere that there was a new version of the ML-4500, the ML-1200. I downloaded the driver for that printer and it seems to work fine for the ML-4500."

"Same problem as the guy who posted on the 15th. I get the found new hardware after I restart,...all the time! Printer prints, but boots slow when it looks for the driver which should ALREADY be installed...wtf do i do????!?!?!?!?!"

"Hi, Installed and works fine with XP Pro. HOWEVER every time I boot the machine it states "Found new hardware". Following the wizard ends up not finding a driver, or just have to cancel. Any ideas ?"
