"The install program for firmware was set to the driver being in Master position on the Secondary IDE Bus. My unit was a Slave on the Primary IDE Bus. I discovered from an included text file that there were options in the first program run by the T.BAT file. By adding -P -L I was able to address the correct position. heir name extension be changed from .DOM to .BIN. That occurred with the addition of option -C. After the firmware program ran successfully, my XP system identified the SR8583 CD / DVD drive on startup by name, which had not occurred previously. No driver was installed."
