"This is a DOS driver - necessary for floppies to setup Windows 9x OSes. Driver must be listed on CONFIG.SYS. See README.TXT for details. Also this is an older version 2.24a. Latest version of ATAPI_CD.SYS is version 2.27b dated 21 Jun 1996. Find file CDU55E.zip ."

"I am trying to install driver set for Sony Cdrom model CDU76e. I am attempting to install OS to clean drive but first must get computer to recognize cdrom. Install aborted because C \Windows\Command\Mscdex.exe and C \Dos\mscdex.exe were not found. Drive C has been reformatted and does not contain windows dir yet. What do I do to get CDRom installed? "This driver set works quite well for my Sony CDU55E CD ROM running on MS DOS 6.2 at 66 MHz. All I did was unzip to a diskette and then run the install on the DOS machine."

"I installed the driver with a master hard disk drive and the sony cd-rom cdu76e as a slave on the primary ide interface and I was able to read the cdrom drive with no problems. System was a 486/66."

"Does this driver work for Windows NT 4.0 SP6a? I have tried several times with multiple for the Sony CDU76e CD-ROM and nothing seems to work with Win NT. Any suggestions?"
