"I installed this driver on two PCs with Windows XP. Installation is a bit difficult. XP does not report the scanner in the device manager. However, the scanner is recognized by Paperport 9.0 and works fine within this software. I did not have to replace my Ideascan scanner that is no longer supported by IBM."

"Installing in xp took a bit of time, but I can't tell you how thankfull I am for your site as this was a brand new scanner and IBM did not have a driver to run it but was able to refer me here.

"This driver at least got the scanner working. Image quality is good. It would help if I had more than 100 mb of hard drive space left on this old pc. I can't scan a high res photo right now due to my lack of disk space. Easy to install the driver. I give it a 7 out of 10."

"I have followed Kamiko/Juans instructions and installed the driver on my Windows XP Toshiba laptop. I got a success message saying Software successfully installed.

However, when I try to run paperport, I get an error: MAXKERNL.dll was not found.

"Ok, an hour later and i've figured it all out. (Is anyone reading these things anymore? doubt it) I have loaded everything correct, I understand the directions, etc. Now i have a scanner that is working properly loaded on my computer, but I cant find it. "It has been a difficult road and i love the challenge, but after 4hrs I thought i could get this to work. I can unzip, find the unknown device, but from there it doesnt work. If scan_ENG.inf is a program, how do i get it to work, where do i type it in? It doesnt look like instructions to me."

It did not work with just downloading and executing the download file, so I followed Kamiko's suggestion and went to Control panel -System etc. and loaded the driver from the Primax folder that the download created. "If you are having trouble unzipping the file. Try this Method A If you saved it to your disk, delete it and try to download it again. Method B If you opened it instead of saving it, go into Your WINDOWS folder (usually in the C \) and find the "Temporary Internet Files" Folder. Then try to find the file called "Primax.zip" and delete it. This should help =)"

"works fine! with Win2000 I brought the buttons to work with the OneTouch SW (inkl. in this driver) and with the whole package of the SW PaperPort. Probably just one file was needed. Didn't have to find out yet. If someone has enough time, give it a try!"

"Very slow and uncertain connection to put it mildly. I had to use a download manager (gozilla) to get the file after getting dropped off 5 times. Having said that the driver does work on XP. I was able to add the driver thru the driver update wizard with the browse function. Thanks for your help Juan."

Downloaded the zipped file with much hassle due to s l o w server that driverguide uses. Wouldn't install on my xp system. Waste of a lot of time approx 2 hours. I'm a wiz at tech stuff, but the combination of software that doesn't work and this sluggish site resulted in an all round bad experience. Why anyone would pay to use this site in the condition that it is in i
