ves this, although it defeats the hibernate feature! The Soundblaster Audigy is a 24-bit soundcard and according the box, it can sample audio in and out at 48kHz at up to 24-bit resolution. I tried recording at 24-bit, 48kHz and it gave the error 'Audio format not supported by hardware'. I converted a 44.1kHz, 16-bit wave file into 48kHz, 24-bit and tried playing it and I got the same error, I tried it also at 44.1kHz, 24-bit but with no success. I also tried loading the 24-bit wave files in Sound Recorder (comes with Windows XP). It loaded each file successfully but refused to play any them. There is a plugin for Winamp called MAD, which supports 24-bit and 32-bit audio output but these 2 options will not work either using Wave Out or Directsound. Old the 8-bit and 16-bit options work. I E-mailed Creative Support about the 24-bit problem and when I get a reply, I will post it here if I remember."
