"It WILL work on XP pro SP3. I know visioneer and users will tell you it won't work but it does for me. I used my 5800 install disk on a XP pro SP3 (INSTALLED AS SP 3)and it works fine on my 5800 scanner"

"Driver worked well on Win XP SP2

Dell Dimension 4400 Pentium P4 1.6 Ghz

1 Gig Ram, Using Photoshop 7. Installed without a hitch and photoshop had no trouble locating scanner. Not bad for a scanner that I picked up roadside on garbage day eh?"

"Works like a charm! I put it on an IBM running XP Pro and rebooted and it automatically runs the One-Touch tool. I had to have the CD with PaperPort 8.0 separately, of course. But the scanner wouldn't work just installing from the CD for the 5800 because the Paperport version was 5.3 and it wouldn't work from the StrobeProXP100 CD because the drivers weren't for the 5800.

"This DID work for me using XP Professional, however, I have not tried to configure any of the program yet. I did get a good scan, and the device IS identified by running setup First, THEN plugging in the scanner."

"hey a lot of you have the same problem i had.. but i figured out how to fix it!!! just go to Device Manager and click on imaging devices and right click on visioneer... click update driver if you need more help feel free to email me!"

"I downloaded this driver and installed it, but my scanner still says "Unable to Connect with Scanner." Also, the driver is listed as Unknown Device in my Device manager under Universal Serial Bus Controllers. Please help."

"I have a WinXP OS and needed to download this driver. When I downloaded the driver, I still get the message when the driver is trying to be located "Unable to Connect to Scanner". Please help!!!"

"I have installed this driver 2 times, and when installed, it shows up as one touch,3 not one touch 5800 usb. Hence, the computer does not find the scanner when the file is open. What do I do?"

"Be sure to uninstall your scanner,(if you've tried without drivers) to allow the wizard to find it again. You can also click "USB device- install" in hardware wizard. The wizard automatically locates the new driver and installs it. Don't forget to look in the start programs for your scanner to connect and configure afterward."

"This driver work good with Windows XP operating system, but however good the driver it still requires a missing component in order to fine tune it. The application I refers to is the Scansoft Paperport, it is necessary to have in order to be able to interface with the scanner itself, so you can calibrate the lamping, etc."
