"After upgrading to xp, my mitsumi48x5te cdrw wouldn't burn with roxio 5 platinum. I upgraded with Roxio driver update 5.3.5.1_plt_enu.exe, but directCD still didn't work. Then I found this .dll file and simply replaced the one I had. Now everything works great! Thanx!"

"This was a lifesaver! Thanks! I've had XP for a few months without any major problems. Then for unknown reasons, my CD Creator 5.0 suddenly ceased to burn or even recognize any disks. I finally (by chance) found & downloaded this and installed the dll in the Adaptec Direct CD folder as Tim posted, then restarted the PC. Now my CD-RW (LTR-12101B) will recognize the CDs a

nd will burn again but it now has a maximum write speed of 4x instead of the 8x-12x I normally used. I don't have the option of increasing the write-speed anymore, but at least I can use it again!"

"I had EZ CD Creator 4 installed on my Win XP system (yes, I know there are issues with it, but I *was* able to install it, and it works fine). The only problem was I kept getting the message "directCDBF.dll" not found every time I restarted the PC. Another issue is that I could not shut down my PC it would restart every time. sue with XP and Adaptec.) I installed this dll in the Adaptec Direct CD folder and restarted the PC. The result is I don't get that message anymore, but I still can't shut down the PC. Anthony, I got rid of one of my bad installs by using McAfee Uninstaller and then manually deleting the remaining folders and files. Don't be afraid to try another install, and thanks for the driver."
