"Driver itself is fine, however the drive itself suffers buffer issues if the speed is ratcheted up to maximum. Nevertheless, there are no other alternatives, as Acer no longer makes this drive. Thus, I recommend this driver despite the faults mentioned."

"The instructions require that you copy the Driver file onto a floppy. Since me computer doesn't have a floppy drive, this is problematic. The rest of the instructions also seemed convoluted, at best."

"Finally found a driver that appeared to work for the external drive. THEN, once it was turned off, it would not be recognized again. Am now reinstalling driver to see if it will be recognized again after that. :o("

"had to rate 'bad' b/c it says it DL's to C:\> and I go there and cannot even find it *to* try to install [after virus-checking, of course!].

CANNOT find in "help" how to tell DL's to go straight to desktop to be *found* as could in win98.

NOW WHAT!? HELP!!"

"Installed on XP Home -- although it seems to work okay, it didn't fix my problem... Which is this: burning a cd seems to be cruising along smoothly, but it never completes the burn and ends prematurely. Perhaps it's just not 'finalizing' the disk. My rackmounted CD player will play from the beginning only (no jumping or skipping)."

"Hey, I'm having the same problems with xp and easy cd creator. Will it just not work? I'm getting the error 10 aswell. I just upgraded from 98 thinking this would help because I couldn't get it to work with 98. Is Nero better with this driver. I'm at the end of my resourses here and would greatly appreciate some help."

"Hi. The driver works fine with Windows XP. However, the software that came included with the CDRW (Adaptec's EasyCD Creator and DirectCD) apparently is not compatible with Windows XP. Are there drivers available to make this software compatible with XP?"

"I am trying to install on a Win ME operating system. I am still unable to install the software. When I select the ME directory I get this error "an eror occured during the move process -132 copy_error_openinput" I tried to reinstall ME but it still won't work. If I try to install the Win98 driver, the computer locks up when searching for the correct driver. Any Ideas
