"After 10 goes trying to install this driver i'll read the back date posts which helped alot. What i did is let it extract it to C:/ and then use the 'Program Compatibility Wizard'. "For the posts I see here that say this driver DOES NOT work with Windows XP.. READ UP!!! You prolly have ECP set for LPT1 in your BIOS. Reboot .. enter your BIOS and set your parallel port to EPP. It should work as this driver does work with XP up to and including SP1 (maybe later when it comes out)"

"After restarting my computer several times and a couple of lock ups, my Acer Prisa 310P scanner is working under Windows XP. The two imaging programs on my computer (Microsoft Picture It 99 & Adobe Photo Deluxe 2.0) BOTH recognize my scanner and I am able to use it once again. These drivers worked for me...just don't give up on them easily. Thanks!"

"I tried to install it, it went smoothly, but when I attempt to scan anything in photoshop it just loads the driver, then minimizes the program and stalls. You can't maximize it back and you have to endtask it. Also when I tried with photo plus it just closed the program after loading the driver. This isn't working!!!! Any ideas?"

"With the download, I thought at first it had not worked, and as having a Mirascan 310P and a canon 5100 printer as well, thought that both were still on a holiday. After a couple of goes of shutdowns and startups they both now work in tandem with the XP. I really appreciate the fact that someone out there really knows what their doing. Please keep up the good work."

"Well, after several unsucessful attempts, I back tracked with 'system restore' and started again using Dr Shu's suggestions and it worked a treat. One word of warning though, when using the scanner install wizard, it could not find this specific scanner so I selected Flatbed scanner. When I started my scanning software Pagis Pro, I had to select it, and now it works far

"Thanx. It worked. Follow the instruction after the download carefully & u wont go wrong. The download will go to a file called ACER310P. Open this file & run the setup to install the driver (mirascanV3.42). U will then need to install the scanner - just follow the wizard to install the scanner under scanner & imaging devide. Ifu are not sure, search MSN and go to item 52 -

"Really wierd. It seems that Photoshop (5-7) under Win2k/XP. Altho I made this scanner "barely" work from under a different image editor that invokes the scanner... Like MSOffice's document scanning module."

"The driver installed fine under WinXP. Yeah right... But it did not work! ( I have an Acer AcerScan Prisa 310P Parallel port scanner under WinXP. I used Photoshop to scan it but it would not detect the presence of the scanner. ( Anyone has a workaround to make this scanner work under WinXP?"

"I think the problem is that this driver is made for everything but Parallel port 310P scanners! If you read the readme.txt file that comes with the package you will see that it mentions USB but no Parallel Port. "To install the driver, I just double clicked on the setup.exe file found within the extracted folder MiraScanv3424p_BQA. The driver installs and then you're prompted to add the scanner. "I have not been able to get this driver to work. It will install on my Windows XP system and you can add the scanner as a recognized device. The problem is that applications can't see the scanner i.e. ".. scanner not found". I have read in some news groups that this is a common problem with no apparent solution.
