"Tried many drivers that did not work. This one did. It was installed on a VIA VT-8363-686A motherboard with on board sound. Easy install. Copied driver to a file on C drive, unzipped it and XP did the rest."

"The install on Windows 2000 hung on "Waiting for sound card to go ready...". Finally I killed the installer and rebooted. The driver worked OK after that, everything looked OK in device manager. I can't comment on it's overall stability, because this was just a machine I was installing for a friend and I didn't get much chance to try it myself."

"I'm not sure what driver I need to download. I need some stuff like "CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device" from C-media for Windows XP. Is that the right driver? I'm confused. "Yeah, the driver worked perfectly fine. I had installed Windows XP over Windows ME and I couldn't here sound although my mp3s were apparently playing in Winamp. So I installed this driver and it worked well."
