"This driver does not function as many online links would indicate. Windows XP, not only recommends you not use the file, it will actively prohibit you from completing the driver installation (due to compatability issues). This Driver is a waste of time."

"My IBM IdeaScan model 0275-011 scanner would not work after upgrading my IBM Aptiva 595 to Win XP Home edition SP2. Even after re-installing the original software It kept giving the message "Scanner not Found". One of the other posts said that Compeye manufactured this scanner for IBM. I downloaded Simplex1236c_XP.zip for Compeye scanners and installed it in it

s own directory under C:\Windows\Twain_32\ (same location as IBM scanner directory) Running SxCenter.exe from that directory found the scanner, and the copy function worked . Scan did not, it was looking for Photo Express rather than PhotoStudio. The buttons were also not configured the same as IBM. I got it to work by renaming "SmartOem.dll" in the Compeye directory and replacing it

with a copy of "SmartOem.dll" from the IBMScanner directory.

The all the scanner functions seamed to work. I now run the Sxcenter.exe program from the Compeye directory."

"Downloaded, unzipped, ran setup. Scanner appeared to be 'noticed' for first time since xp. After pc restart, SOS, "scanner not found." Expect I messed up the sequence...any clues. "I have a scan Daewoo Simplex with windows XP and I installed and of cource, XP say " A driver is installed that causes stability problems with ... bla, bla, bla", but I installed and works correctly. Thanks for posting this driver because I was beginning to think that no driver was available for Daewoo's scan."

"I download the programm direct to my CD-rom scanned it with Norton, than unzipped it and my compeye worked but when I saved the photo which I had scanned the computer did not regonise the folder and I was not able to do anything with what I was scanning, SO PLEASE ANY HELP..."

"Needed driver for my old PureData DP48m to run it on Win98se Tried the ones on the main listing but kept getting error messages. Already had 1236c_xp.zip for my XP Home Ed.on a CD-ROM so put that in, it installed without a hitch and scanner works fine got 'Smart Key' as an extra."

"Brilliant - just ran the setup, let XP notice the hardware and pointed it at the temp file this driver was in. My DP66KC runs perfectly, and I'd almost given up. Thanks, this has saved me buying a new one."

"I was unable to get this driver to work on XP. Get message A driver is installed that causes stability problems with your system. This driver will be disabled. Please contact the driver manufacturer for an update that is compatible with this version of Windows. Now what ?"

"Thank you very much!!! I already gave up hope my DP66M would ever work under XP, but after installing this things slightly changed. I didn't have to try to install a scanner driver manually, just extract the file and run the setup program, works great!! -)"

"My PC is an hpPavillion 510c with a 1.30G.Hz Celeron processor and the OS is WindowsXP Home Ed. I downloaded the drivers and burnt them onto a CD and then put them thru Norton Anti Virus. All seemed ok so opened them up and they worked fine with my old DP48m PureData scanner."

Install the scanner manually, make sure you include the folder in which you unpacked the zipfile and choose the sxscan.inf file from THIS directory. "My Compeye DP60 works under XP using NT4 driver(AMD K6-2 380 Asus TX97, 256 MB RAM). After a clean install of XP, run setup.exe from NT4 driver. then install iPhoto Plus 4.0. Reboot, after staring iPhoto plus the first time, select file, select source >compeye 30/60. Then select acquire", hopefully it will work."

"The driver did not work on my computer. (AMD-K6 2+ 550mhz-ali aladdin chipset Jetway 542B 128 MB RAM, compeye DP60 on lpt1 ecp/epp) Windows asks for a driver ".inf" file. This driver does not have one that is usefull. The only way to install the driver is by opening the setup.exe. But that doesn't work either.
