After you download the file '98wdm.exe', run it and it will ask you where to extract its contents. Choose a folder (click browse) and click on Unzip. Go to the folder where you unzipped the files to and run the file named 'setup.exe'. Your problems should now be fixed.
If not, go to this site www.realtek.com.tw/htm/download/driver.asp -- and download the Windows 95/3.1/DOS Combo driver and see if that works.
