1) Statement of Applicability

This version of firmware is only applicable for TN2501AP hardware

vintage 0-3.

The following issues have been corrected:

If a user tried to play a non-existent message through the record port

(playback through feature access codes) the record port would be put in

playback mode and never released.

In rare circumstances, a TN2501AP board installed in a G3R system could

spontaneously reset itself. This condition would log Error Code 1 in

the hardware error log.

The Ethernet interface has been made more robust.

2) Special Definity Download Instructions

Note: Avaya is now providing cryptographically signed firmware download files

to align with Avaya security guidelines. The cryptographic signature ensures

that the firmware download file is authentic and secure. Signed download files

will be required by systems equipped with Communication Manger 3.1 and TN799DP

firmware vintage 17 and greater. Signed files can be identified by the "-sig"

appended to the file name. E.G. tn771dp_fv19-sig.bin.

Digitally signed files are compatible with *all* releases of Definity,

MultiVantage, and Communication Manager that support firmware download.

Digitally signed files are backward compatible with all downloadable TN

circuit packs. Once loaded on the target circuit pack, there is no feature

or functionality difference between the signed and unsigned versions of the

files.

For an interim period, Avaya is making both the signed and unsigned versions

of the TN download files available. After a period of time, only the signed

version will be available.

Before attempting a download, please read the "Installation Instructions for

TN Circuit Pack Firmware" on the TN2501AP Firmware Downloads page.

NOTE: In systems running on Definity R9.5 or R10 software loads older than

R10 field trial load 40 (R010.01.040.0) or any MultiVantage 1.1.X system, the

TN2501AP board must be re-seated in the carrier/slot in order for the board

firmware upgrade to take effect. Re-seating of the board is not necessary in

any MV1.2 or later systems.

3) Pre Install Instructions

Required:

A) Communication Manager, MultiVantage or Definity R9.5 Software or

greater.

B) Browser Access to the Customer Support Web site

(http://support.avaya.com), or another way to get the target file.

C) FTP application on your PC or Local Computer.

D) Target Board: TN2501AP hardware vintage 0-2.

E) Inads, dadmin, craft or a customer login that has been enabled for

system maintenance.

4) File Download Instructions

If you are already at the TN2501AP download site, please skip to

step 5.

Step 1. Direct your browser to <http://support.avaya.com>. Find and click on

"Downloads".

Step 2. Under the heading "Download by Product Name", find and

click on your media server, e.g. "S8500 Media Server".

Step 3. Under the heading "Firmware Downloads" find and click on "Latest TN

Circuit Pack, Media Server, and Media Gateway Firmware and Software Updates."

Step 4. In the table "Firmware table for TN Circuit Packs found in...", find

and click on the entry for TN2501AP with vintage 9.

Step 5. This is the TN2501AP firmware download page. Download the file

"tn2501ap_f8-sig.bin"
