"I tried to make these drivers for UMAX scanner work with Win 2000 Pro OS, but they would not...apparently no drivers were ever made compatible for 2000."

"The downloaded driver for the scanner UMAX Astra 610P was easy to install on my Windows XP copmputer. The scanner is allready 6 years old and the original driver did not work. I am really pleased about this. Thank you."

"The same old files as other downloads have - they are just zipped up and are not even for the specified device - they are for 310 / 1220U - yes USB !!!! ... I tried hacking them to work, but still no luck - totally useless !"

"This is great, I thought I'd never get a driver that'd let me use my 610p on my new XP, but this program came through without a glitch! Looks great...better than on 98se. me happy, no glitches... a note for 610p users, never try to scan a heavy book, it'll rub the glass on the reader when it moves and may scratch, permanently harming the scanner... also, w/610 p, I was abl

"dont use any of these drivers they dont work, try putting in the model number when you search its not a umax driver that works with the scanner"

"IT WORKED!! I am so pleased I do not have to replace my trusty, simple to use Umax scanner. However, please caution any future visitors to the site that they should use a CD rather than a floppy. I had to download twice as the floppy only got 99% !!"

"It really works in Windows XP. Only needs change original driver from the XP for the existing driver in disk 2 from the program ASTRA 610P and the VistaScan recognizes the scanner."

"I now have Windows XP and note that everybody responding said that this driver would not work. Anyhow...as a neophyte...please let me know if, the driver would work, would I still need to install the original software for this scanner? Unfortunately, I have misplaced it."

"This works perfectly, installed it on Win 2K and now scanner works. Other drivers I found wouldn't install because of SCSI Interface, this driver used the Parallel Port Interface, and I can now use my scanner again. Thanks Don."
