"This driver has worked fine for Cannon BJC-5100 inkjet colour printer under widows XP operating system. So far we have not faced any problem except that the printer does not take multiple prints ( no of copies). We have to give print command for each copy.

Thank you for the driver which is great help."

"Canon lies! They say this driver works on Windows XP (even though it is named "5000W2K"), but it does not. I loaded it into the XP system and it said it was not "certified" for Windows XP. But, you (and Canon before) said it wiorks under Winbdows XP.

When I tried to load the printer with this driver - it once again said not certified, but I could

"First of all, I had no clue where the driver unloaded. (c:\temp, as it turns out.) I followed the installation instructions - using the Install Printer Wizard rather than allowing the computer to Auto Detect a plug and play. But, my printer still will not install. "Had to use with BJCAngel before downloading. Don't know how I figured it out--it took awhile. The driver is for NT or 2000 and will not install without the BJCAngel file, which makes it work with XP."

"It worked fine after many tries to download,because XP blocked your window

as a security mode.I had to uncheck the message in the tool bar in order to

get the full download.

"If you do not want to trash your Canon BJC-5100 printer, then I recommend that you download this and follow the instructions. I have been trying many different ways to get the printer to work. So far, this is the only method that has allowed me to print.

"Since moving to Windows XP, I have been unable to use my Canon BJC-5100. I was unable to find any drivers at Canon for this printer with Windows XP.

My solution was to dual-boot with Win98 and WinXP, and whenever I needed to print I would reboot into Win98.

"This is the cannon win2k driver. You can print 8 1/2 x 11 PERIOD! So don't keep trying. Spend your time e-mailing Cannon tech over and over and over. Make sure to let them know you will never buy another Cannon.......buy Epson - at least they listen to their customers"

"This driver saved me buying a new printer which is no big deal except I have loads of ink cartridges that I hate throwing away. The only problem I have with this driver is that everytime I log on I have to unplug and then plug in the printer power cord - is there something I can do to eliminate this chore. "This driver works fine, although the XP dialog says that it has not been signed off by them and that it may cause problems. This driver is actually available from the cannon website but does not fall under the XP directory. I have found similar xp comments on other drivers for aother pieces of equipment. One of these is the range of D-Link routers. All drivers work with XP

"D300NTGX.DLL printer driver file for BJC-5100 causes automatic reboot and software installation errors in Windows XP home. If you delete this file, the errors go away. As of this time, the BJC-5100 is incompatible with XP Home, it may work for a while, but you are headed for trouble. I am sending this problem to Canon."

"Just goes to prove that 'Win' printers are a bad idea. If the manufacturer decides not to write a driver, and not to publish the specs - your stuffed. Given this stance we should petition Cannon to release the specs for the printer, then we could at least get it supported on Linux increasing the time to boat-anchor mode. "actually i have no idea why do the printing preferences ( some of it) turn into codes which i can't understand. it was my fault when i insert the chinese vers. of xp installer(for upgrade) previously but all seem fine when i changed it to english. but still the printing prefs have some of the unreadable codes. i wonder why.. will by installing this driver will change them

"I have noticed several people experienced problems unzipping. It is automatically unzipped into a folder C \TEMP (if C is your base drive). Then go to Printer&Fax in the control panel and install locally "Have disk" from the above folder."

"This driver is for Windows 2000, but this version 2.20 at least was the first one working on my machine (Win XP Professional). But I had the same problems like many others, you can only print in draft quality...also Oversize like A3 doesn't work...I guess Canon at least should write a proper XP driver. I own other Canon products and am thinking of not buying stuff anymore

"I found my BJC 5100 at the Salvation Army for $5.00. I have XP and did not know it wouldn't work. I have downloaded this file and my printer prints GREAT. The power saver also works. "The printer prints only with the default preferences. When I try to change the prefs. and press ok , then when I open the dialogue box again it automatically changes to defaults. eg I am not able to print in high quality or only with black ink."

"It is not possible to store any changes in the preferences (eg. Print quality High). So the BJC-5100 only prints in low quality -( Please help me !"

"After many attempts I finally got it to work. The file Automatically extracts, but you must unzip file. I right clicked on icon download on my computer and clicked unzip in the add printer setup. Thank-you"

"the instructions say to unzip the prgram after download but when i select the program after i unload it i double click it and it extracts but i see no files just the on i downloaded"
