"Mark - You had the fix for my MSI, KT3Ultra2, motherboard. The setup disk indicated Microsoft would provide the USB2 drivers for XP but Microsoft does not provide them as stand alone. So you're the man of the hour at my house. Thanks a 1X10^6."

"This driver saved my bacon, installed lovely on a set of hp compaq nx9000 notebooks that I had to downgrade to W2K from XP. Thankyou very much. HP were crap, had no idea what to do, they told me W2K wasn't supported. Yet again driverguide comes to the rescue. )"

"I downloaded, scanned it with my antivirus, and installed it. I haven't rebooted yet, but I read all the documentation that came with it. Mark, this is the driver that I was reading about on the VIARENA website. It is the only driver that they released for USB 2 before they pulled it for licensing reasons or whatever that was. "Via cautions that you consult with your motherboard manufacturer, before installing this USB controller driver. There is a Via controller driver packaged with Windows XP. My Soyo motherboards don't require this driver."

"If you have a VIA based motherboard, don't bother with XP

Service Pack 1 to get USB 2.0 drivers. This Install is smooth, and on reboot, system device manager recognizes USB 2.0 enhanced host controller. VIA chip is KT880 on MSI

motherboard.

"I do not think this installed the USB 2.0 that I wanted. I keep getting this dialog coming up whenever I plug in a USB device, "upgrade to USB 2.0 for better performance," or something similar. I still see the dialog after installing and a reboot. Good Luck, Jesus is coming and he is mad."
