"It corrupted my BIOS(no display or post beeps). Luckily you can recover it by doing a boot block recovery. Just download the appropriate file for your mobo and follow the instructions. Don't get creative. If the upgrade for 4.05 didn't work don't use the 4.05 recovery disk. If your like me and have the PB450M+ mobo you're going to want to recover the 4.03 bios. Anoth

er words, make sure you use the 4.03 recovery disk. The file is called PB450403.exe and it's included in the PB450RD.exe self-extracting file which can be found here at www.firmware.com/support/recovery/index.htm All the instructions will be there. Good luck!"

"It seems to have helped so far. My system was very unstable until I loaded the upgrade. I did have to go into the BIOS and research for the hard drive."

"I just ran this Bios upgrade. Worked fine. I did have to re-identify my HD on boot-up .. other than that..worked like a champ! Make sure you have 4.03 prior to upgradeing to 4.05. Good Luck to all."

"Beware of this comment!!! Use of this file can destroy your Packard Bell computer. I did not pay much attention to the previous warnings of fried bios. This file DESTROYED my computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It won't do anything now. No boot, no nothing, just forced me to replace my old trusty PackBell. Soooo sad!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Upgrade works fine, but its instant so don't boot on the floppy untill you are ready. Also I recomend a UPS if your power happens to go out while you are upgrading. Do a full format on the floppy before you create to make sure there are no bad secters on it. A++++"
