"Installation went fine.

Works well, except there seems to be a file size limitation on scans - so have to use low resolution: RGB copy of an A4 sheet not always successfull - sometimes only get about 2/3rds of page or one side of page is truncated so that top third is in the place of bottom third and bottom third is at top."

"I'm pleased to say that this works with Windows 2000 professional as well. Just follow the instructions in the Uploader notes above, except "Legacy support for PnP" is "Enable legacy plug and play detection" in Win 2000. Ignore what it says about EPP."

"I am having the same trouble as Alan. Did that ever get resolved? I adjusted port settings to EPP, loaded 610P driver through XP and installed downloaded scan utility. I am trying to access through Adobe Photo Deluxe 4.0. The scanner shows up on the scanner list but is not recognized. I get the following message, "Program was unable to find your scanner. Please e

"Alan, which application are you trying to use the scanner with?

I assume you've installed the 610P first this should install a useable twain driver. Uninstalling scanners often leaves the twain drivers behind - I would uninstall all scanners and check you have no twain DLL libraries in the windows directory (do a find files called twain*.* in c:\windows) then reboot an

"Well, I tried all that you suggest, adjusted port settings too, still can't access scanner - "Program was unable to find your scanner, please ensure that scanner is connected and drivers are installed" followed by "Cannot start TWAIN driver! please ensure successful installation of hardware and drivers"

Any thoughts?"

"The setting of port LPT1 to EPP may only be accessible in the BIOS settings of the PC - this was Graham's problem below and changing it from ECP to EPP has sorted it out."

"I am using XP home and could not get the scanner to be recognised. I installed the UMAX 610P driver and then attempted to change the LPT1 settings. However I have the following settings "Use any interrupt assigned to the port" that I ticked Enable legacy plug and play detection that I also ticked, but here I only see a choice of LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3 (I left LTP1), there i
