Additional Notes

Worked beautifully on Windows XP Home Edition in the UK.

This is the sub £10 Dabs.com Value Conexant modem which has no XP drivers on the CD.

Initially detected as a "Best Data" modem you will probably get no-dial tone errors. Follow the readme.txt and update the driver using the "Have Disk" Option.

Will then appear as "Generic SoftK56 Data Fax".

Got speeds of 54.5kbps on first usage -)

When I follow the instructions, WinXP Pro does want to upgrade because it does not find any newer version of the driver. So, I am not able to install it. Is there a way to force Windows to install this driver ?

Any help is welcome.
