"Great, it works fine with a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504. I have the restoration cd's but I'v decided to make a clean install with a xpsp2 cd's and after that I found Dispositivo base del sistema on device manager was wrong. I found nothing of it but Device tos6200. This driver corrects the "Base Device system" error."

"used this driver on my toshiba satellite pro 6100 as the one which came on the xp pro disk image wasnt actually compatible with win xp and the card was disabled :o( after a few dayf of hunting i remember im a member of driverguide and there it was waiting for me thanks driverguide youve got me out of another situation once again :o)"

"On a Sony VAIO PCG-Z1RSP notebook with XP Pro SP2 the standard Yamaha AC-XG

sound drivers would install with an error message.

This driver went through the install process but aborted with a message saying "the update was not installed" (or something very similar).

I also tried awi3157_xp.exe with the same result. As a final resort I tried the W2000/9x d

"After downloading the XP service pack the sound driver on my Sony Vaio would not work. Could not find a suitable replacement from either Sony or Yamaha. PC now works fine! I now know where to come in future. Cheers"

"Yup, my soundcard also stopped after upgrading to XP SP1. I installed this on a Hitachi Prius, with Japanese XP. Worked first time, after skipping the warning. Cheers!"

"I get asked for my xp disk, but, toshiba did not include this cd, i have 3 cd and the file that is requested is wemaud.exe. any idea where i can get this file if i dont have the windows xp home edition cd?"

"Many thanks. Like many others I was caught out by the SP1 update on WinXP. This driver worked a treat on my PCG-GRX415MP (just click through the warning about it not being approved by Windows) and now I can get back to music while I work."

"Try the Toshiba site for Tosh specific drivers. Their driver for this problem with XP SP1 is signed by Microsoft. Yamaha Driver Version is 6.13.10.2152."

"The Yamaha driver AC-XG uses the "PortCls" function for checking the operating system version. In Windows XP Service Pack 1, the "PortCls" function has been modified in design, therefore the Yamaha driver can not identify the operating system version correctly. Microsoft added a workaround, which blocks the Yamaha driver for use with SP1. The new Yamaha Sound Driver
