"The ASUS P5A driver suite was a tad complicated on my P5A-B's. Running XP-Pro and 2K-Pro, the suite installs through one executable program. The OS recognized the new IDE Bus Master driver, but Windows' Device Manager always found the device (IDE Bus Master) loaded with a bad driver. De-installed the IDE Bus Master driver and re-installed it manually with same result.

Elected to reload fresh image and unzip the executable and install the mobo's updated device drivers separately, AGP and ACPI, while omitting the Bus Master. Works fine now, just no updated IDE driver."

"I download these driver by mistake, because I was tested this driver in august/2004 and I forgot. The problem is that my motherboard chipset it is out of the range pointed by the driver.I have ASUS P3V133 that uses VT82c693a and vt82c596b chipset. The driver download is usefull in another chipset. But I recommend that other members try to use in your systems."

"Its Fixed!! But the driver didn't do it. I too had the Via Bus Master IDE Drivers message on XP startup. I tried downloading the 4 in 1 listed here, but no luck. Here is what I did 1. Go to My Computer and select 'Properties', 'Hardware' and 'Device Manager' 2. Expand 'SCSI and Raid Controllers' 3. Right click 'Via Bus Master IDE Drivers' and select 'Properties' 4.

At the bottom under 'Device Usage' select 'Do not use this device (disable)'. That's it. Reboot and presto..worked for me anyway. Hope this helps."

"I installed the driver, but am still getting the found new hardware. My computer keeps crashing because of it. Alert msg-> AMLI ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address. Microsoft says to update bios. Any reason why the found new hardware keeps popping up though? Thanks"

"The subject driver would not install. Asus P4B533 motherboard using WindowsXP. The program goes through the loading proceedure and asks if you want to restart your computer to complete the process. When I did this a prompt appeared indicating that I had interrupted the installation process."
