"go to device manager and update USB DRIVER from there...

you have to update the driver and direct windows to the specific file ser2pl.inf It looks like that file is not being installed possibly because another driver other than Ca42 has been installed.

If you have installed any other drivers you must uninstall them until windows has NO idea what driver you are usin

How to Update USR-2309 Device Drivers Quickly & Easily
