"The flash wouldn't work!!!! "Encore" You suck ass hole!..... I had to get five boot disks, four system disks and six driver disks. first you boot off your first boot disk start windows then run update installer then shut down windows while update installer is running boot off the third disk not the second...... f**k that!!??......."

"Could not run this driver after download it keeps telling me I need wnasp132.dll. This problem might have nothing to do with the driver and just something missing in the software on my computer, either way I can not get it to work."

"I can now write to my CD. Prior to this fix, I could not. I'm guessing a Microsoft system patch caused my CD not to work properly. Updating this Mitsumi firmware made it work. Even though I am not running XP, making the CD Drive XP compatible makes it work."

"Listen up! You cant use the winflash, you have to boot into DOS mode and run the firware upgrade off the disk! Just get a Win98 boot disk, boot with that, then get another disk with this firmware on it and run the updater. I've done it, works great."

"Well folks, I've tried and failed too. I'm thinking this is a lost cause. I downloaded the file (like it says), and tried executing the flash. However, that failed. If anyone has gotten this to work then I'd be happy to know what they've done."

"Forget the hassles with this non-functioning unit in WIN XP PRO. Save the time and headaches, go out and buy another CD-RW. I have searched forever on the net for a solution, there is none. NOO drivers or updates work. STOP wasting time and buy another unit."

"I still do not have it working but I can give some hints. First: This is the right driver however winflash will not work. You need the DOS Flash program. I obtained my copy of flash by downloading the DOS driver for a different mitsumi cd drive. Specifically I downloaded the file:

ftp://ftp.mitsumi.com/pub/drivers/fw70e_5f.exe

Obviously throw away the CIP fi

"i've installed this driver twice...still no results. i had this problem earlier and fixed it...just went to a dual boot system and now it's back. as soon as i figure out what i did to fix it the first time i will post my fix."

"Thanks K, but it didnt work. In fact, as soon as i lay the cd in the drive, the light goes on-off-on-off... and the drive does not recognize any empty CD. Any other ID ? Thanks anyway"

"This doesn't work!!! However I did solve the problem. My OS is XP on a hp puter. Try this. Uninstal any CD writing software you have. Use Windows Media Player to write your CD's. I had a problem with an unverified driver which tied into my Mitsumi CR 48X5TE CD writer. After I uninstaled the other writer software there were no more problems. This also worked for my

"This sucks, I have the same problem as Aaron......It didn't work. My CD/R that came with my HP Pavilion stopped working for me, so I tryed loading the driver, but it's not working.........Anybody know where to get the real driver since I can't find my original startup."
