"works great with xp service pack 2..i had "simple pci communication controller" appear in device manager, after i installed this driver it went away and i was able to connect to the internet via my pci dial up modem. i hope this info helps out a little

"I had 3 of these modems with no driver. I installed the first one and it dialed but would only communicate at 4.8K. Tried second and it seems to work fairly well. I'm still encountering many receiving errors that seem to slow the system - like there may be a problem with phone line itself. I will update if/when I identify the problem. The driver itself got me going -
