"OK, it took me a few hours of fiddling before I found the simple solution for getting it to work with WinXP. Hopefully, this saves you some time. The trick is to perform the install from the CD that came with the scanner FIRST. Then run the setup from the file on this site. Accept all the defaults when running setup.exe for both setup programs. The setup from this site cre

ates a "Flatbed Scanner > Scanner Utility" shortcut in your Program Files group, but use the one created by your CD setup instead ("Plustek Scanner > Scanner Utility"). Then the scanner is available through programs like Microsoft Photo Editor (that come with MS Office). Good luck."

"Ink level function did not work. Scanner operation was flakey. Both Epson and Plustek greedily dropped firmware support before I even got their equipment home - literally. At least this software kept printer and scanner from becoming door stops. Thank you for that."

"Drivers from here were for an EPSON Stylus COLOR 880. The ink level utility never worked, and didn't interface with scanner better than ok. "problem with missing .dll was overcome using FREE Adobe photoshop album 2.0 available with Acrobat 7.0 download only adds 6 megs to download and allows you to aquire image from Twain interface. PERFECT!!!"

"Installed it on a compaq computer running windows xp home with no problems. Had to unzip the file first, installed the program, rebooted the computer, then ran the scanner utility just fine. Needed to turn on the lamp with the scanner utility before using another program to scan with.

I haven't been able to get it to work yet because it keeps giving me one error message after another. "driver worked exactly as promised (w2k)

Next problem is finding some software to operate the scanner - I found EasyScan. Works OK - far mre facilities than I'm ever lilely to want. But (I think) slightly slower than the software supplied with the scanner - but it was about 2 years ago when I last used it so I might not remember right!"

"I installed from the CD (Win95, root was no go) folder setup program first as Bill wrote. Then I install this driver in the same directory so this overwites the original files. Separate directories gave the not found msg. I have the Picture Publisher from the driver CD for scanning. The results seem to need colour calibrating."

"The dirver works great!!! DLL not found? Follow the recomendations 1-Reboot your PC 2-Install the driver in the default location or C \PROGRA~1\SCANNER instead of C \Program Files\SCANNER It worked for me."

"The files were installed on MS XP without incident. Thank you Deaner. NOTE* I noticed a bunch of complaints on this thread about a message "SCANNER DLL NOT FOUND". This may happen if the PC is not re-booted after the install. Just my 2 cents."
