I have installed the program from my original CD.

Reboot.

The I have installed this driver.

Reboot.

Then, it works.

"Considering the alternative (no XP driver at all), it isn't so bad. The scan bar travels too far, and makes a nasty noise - so it may eventually break. My light is considerably brighter with this driver, which can affect scan results."

"Tried both of these drivers with W2kPro - neither worked - same problem as other download. Dll file not found even with putting it into Systems file. Not recommended."

"1) install the driver (it's a zip archive)

2) reboot your PC

3) switch on the lamp in the scanner utility

4) use the scanner in your usual software like Paint Shop Pro!

there's only 1 bug : the scanner make a strange noise when it's on the end of his course in the prescan.

(I use Win2000 SP4)"

"OK, it took me a few hours of fiddling before I found the simple solution for getting it to work with WinXP. Hopefully, this saves you some time. The trick is to perform the install from the CD that came with the scanner FIRST. Then run the setup from the file on this site. Accept all the defaults when running setup.exe for both setup programs. The setup from this site cre

ates a "Flatbed Scanner > Scanner Utility" shortcut in your Program Files group, but use the one created by your CD setup instead ("Plustek Scanner > Scanner Utility"). Then the scanner is available through programs like Microsoft Photo Editor (that come with MS Office). Good luck."

"Seems to work great. My scanner has been hooked up to a backup Win98 machine since I upgraded to XP. Always a hassle to scan and transfer to my XP box. Now I don't have to buy a new scanner. Wonderful. Thanks..."

"Works very well. Once you download it, click on the file and it will self-exract. A German notice will come up about 18 files. Don't worry about this, just go to the directory the self-extractor pointed to. Click on the file "setup launcher" a 44 kb file and it does the rest. It's all called "Flatbed Scanner". Everything checks out fine in PC-cillin. Good luck. Plustek sho
