"This is the UMAX.inf file I needed for XP Pro SP1 (US ver). It recognizes and scans from my Astra2000p. I dont think it supports the parallel pass thru but I can't test that. For the scanning program you need one of the other files like 2000pall-vs355p.exe."

"Wow, it's been a long time since I've check this site for reviews about this driver update. First of all this is not the actual driver. It is an update to be used for people who have XP. "i dont get the whole thing it doesnt do anything its only a read me file that does absolutely nothing is there actally still a version for Astra scanner 1220P that works for XP? i had it working a year ago and lost the program due to a crash now every single place i go promises a driver for XP but absolutely none of them work at all"

"I downloaded 6 folders, each representing a different disc. In folder 1 (or disc 1)there is a file vssetup.exe which is supposed to unzip and copy all files. It looked like it was about 90% complete when I got an error and had to abort."

"I have problems with Win ME and Astra 1220p.

Windows ME does not accept these INF files. The scanner always fails with global protection fault in file P1220_16.dll. This is not part of the driver LPT2000 but of VistaScan v3.55 software."

"I Wanted to try 'n see if the driver also supports An UMAX Astra 610P Scanner,....no success, in fact, i had no affect at all.

Using the scanner via e.g. Adobe PhotoShop doesn't work, also other apps seem to be blin dfor my '610P'.

I know it's an older scanner but it still worx perfectly. If driversupport for this model is really out the window,....

"Install the orginal driver first, which will not be recognized by XP. Once these files are unzipped they will provide a list of scanners in the dialogue box. No problem!"

"you can download the drivers and software for the hpscanjet 3200c as it is the same scanner as the 1220p, however turn off the powersaving option in the startup(run msconfig go to startup tab uncheck hpprwsav) this software and driver will work well with 1220p as umax made these scanners for hp, hp has better support than umax"

"Followed the instructions word for word but couldnt get to work. There are 3 files in the zip. I used the UMAX file. Is this right? What are the other 2 files for? Any help would be much appreciated."

"This driver does work with XP.I had to do some tweaking but got the old 1220p to do some more tricks. Thanks you saved me some $$$ so I didn't have to go and buy a new scanner."

"These files, and instructions, FAILED on an HP 7960 with Windows XP. I was not given an option of "Image processing devices" when following above instructions for an LPT port. Additional input via email would be welcome. Einar Gibbens Ristroph"

"Hola Estos drivers no funcionan pero ya he descubierto como poder hacer funcionareste escaner Umax Astra 1220p con el xp hay que instalar los drivers del 95 el original de cuando compraste el scaner y luego añadir desde panel de control un scaner el unico que hay de umax y lo agregas y leugo si quieres le cambias el nombre por el correcto y ya esta y va divinamente"

"Totally agree with yedweil - this is rubbish as it doesn't include the driver for the 1220P, and I get a message saying that it can't find p6xxusd.dll! Gonna look on the Umax site."

"My XP does not detect the scanner at all (1220p). I have checked the cable, and the light on the scanner is lit. I have tried installing the scanner through Add Hardware wizard, installing the 610p option. I have tried installing using the .inf files given on this page, even though they do not have my scanner as an option all they have is the 600p and 610p. any ideas on w

"Make sure all old drivers associated with the scanner are saved on disk and then manualy deleted from the computer before installing new ones. If drivers don't work and you contact Umax DOn't pay for their supposed upgrade drivers as they are no different than what you get here. The problem is a conflict between drivers I have found on 2 of my computers and their Upgrade m
