"installation caused xp crash, computer restart itself.

second installation try was successful and the modem works fine.

i before used the win2000 driver that came with the modem.

the modem worked outwards but didn't answer calls.

"this HAM -> Host Accelerated Modem

doesnt display itselfs as a known device.

This driver will install it and add the voice-devices. I heared the modem make a soft beep.

And it was up and ready to go.

"I currently still have an old driver that does not work. I updated the driver from Device Manager and selected the *.inf from the disk. This keeps crashing my operating system and computer. I still require a driver for this modem. What am I doing wrong ?"

"Hey guys if u are ahving problems on xp, dont go in modem instal, go to hardware itens/sistem/hardware .. and find a pci driver ploblem and updtade the drivers with the modem drivers, it worked."

"This driver works like a dream! I was using one of the older ones - have had lots of trouble finding the correct updated one - it boosted my 56K modem from speeds of 33000bpm to 57600! Many thanks. PS To comment from 'Dan' on June 1st 2003 - this does work for the L-A chipset."
