"When I was using Windows 98SE, it worked well. Since upgrading to XP, the driver was no longer needed."

"I've tried to install a PCI modem in a WinXP system. I don't know the brand, but it has a chip labeled "Broadcom" with number BCM1242, so I downloaded this driver, but WinXP didn't recognize the hardware, so the setup aborted."

"I did get this driver to work with the Dell Demension 8100 series. I have tested the modem it it dials out to the internet, however, it still needs a couple of other drivers for the PCI controller part."

"I don't really know if this driver is good or not because I needed the driver for Win98 and this driver will only install to Windows XP or Windows 2000. The machine originally had Windows XP but I am now backing it down to Win 98, so I am hoping that there is a driver out there that will work under Win98."

"I just purchased a Dell 4600 with the BCM modem 5w705 (dell item # 3131313) and it doesn't currently support distinctive ring as Dell said it would. Will this driver enable distinctive ring?"
