"Don't waste your time. If you have the Combo Card, the only one that works is the 9.5 MB Download under SmartM Win 98 Sound Card. That one works for Win 95, 98 and ME."

"I believe man has the same exact piece of hardware that I have. He says it is working fine, but he must have more drivers that just the one for the modem part of it installed. "This driver is for an "odd-ball" combo, modem/soundcard that HP used in their Pavillion series systems loaded with Windows ME. When using this driver package for an upgrade to Win' 2000-pro, the drivers worked for the audio section but not for the modem"

"Downloaded multiple drivers of this type. When I go to install the driver - I get a message claiming that the file is corrupt. And I am instructed to re-download the driver."

"Sorry but I could not get it to do anything at all on a Windows 98 SE I used Win xip and it unzipped to my hard drive and there was no way that I could get it too install anything at all and I did have the same chip that you did"

"This driver worked PERFECT!! HP should be ashamed to ship products in their systems and then not even provide any support for them WHATSOEVER!!! I did not follow the readme.txt file because it doesn't work correctly. Just unzip the files and then direct it to the genHCF.inf file during the add remove hardware wizard. Thanks for this file!!"

"I have to agree with stallion. It did not load in. This modem came with the HP 8562 Pavilion (Windows 98SE) bundled with this cheap modem. HP is known to do this. Anyway, reading the readme file refers to the XP and 2000 OS. It really is bad for Smart to not directly support this product let along what you have. I will look around a bit more then just return this computer.
