"This driver will allow you to use the Compaq A900 as a scanner on Windows XP. Compaq/HP refuses to write an updated driver specifically for the A900 on WinXP but you can use this driver for the scanning function, install the Lexmark 5700 driver for the print function, and do your faxing manually with the A900."

"This driver is for a different printer. I went to the hp/compaq site and found the driver for compaq A900, the file name is sp16607. It is bundled with winfax and textbridge and pagis. It is just like the original."

"I would really like to know if you have tried this combo on a Win2000 workstation. I have both XP and W2K machines and will try this on the W2K... If it has already been established not to work, it will save me time and heart-burn. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks Chavis Martin"
