"no this driver nor any other i have tried work. also let me say that this driver was ment to be an audio processor for intel motherboards but was installed as a sound card anyways.hints theres bigger problems then what they say. as for anyone w/ an hp let me know if you need a recovery disc set. it just so happens i got my hands on one and will make some copys if you need.

"I've been searching for a week for an XP compatible driver and finally thought I found one here. After reading all these comments, I won't even try. Looking at the Windows Compatibility List it looks like the Intel(r) 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller is not compatible with XP, maybe that's why we can't find a driver! Intel says their drivers are only for Intel controllers
