"I'm independent PC tech for residential customers. Had an IBM Aptiva, ancient PC, was loaded with WDM sound drivers when I got it to fix. This driver wouldn't work with the Crystal CS4235 sound chip onboard the MB. Had to pop the top and see what chip was installed. Loading the CS4235 driver now to see if that will do it. Can't rate the WDM for this sound chipset since it

"Hi everyone. I am surpised that it is SO hard to get this freakin'driver installed. It's simply impossible to me. I read one of the other comments, where another guy explained how to install it. But he stopped explaining after having told that he browsed for the *.ini file. From now on i'll sing the songs for myself, cause i can't get any sound out my pc. Hope for all of y

"it worked! took me a couple of hours... stupid hp pavilion with all that "built-in" crap. Not sure how I did it but I put it on a floppy and somehow got past the "please insert the win98 se disk" stuff and got it to install. thanks"

"Works for W2K even though copyright is dated 1998! I installed it by unzipping, then going programmes/Control Panel/add\remove hardware then choosing the "have disc" option and browsing for the *.ini file. You could also try Add\remove software"

"Thanks for the driver. Can you please email me the install instructions? I had to reinstall Windows 98 for my niece without the original device drivers. The plug and play function of Win 98 found the card and is looking for the driver from the disk it was orginally installed with. How do I get around this? Thanks Pat Santangelo"
