"I have an external modem of unknown parentage but when queried the modem reports a RCV56DPF-PLL L8571A chipset so I tried this driver with WinXP. When I tried to use it Windows reported a hardware fault with the modem. I will try another flavour."

"I managed to get the modem working on a RCVDL56ACF R6771-22, but the wave device would not initialize. I actually had the factory drivers for this darn thing on hand but the file corrupted and I couldn't upload! AAAAAAAGGHH!"

"I have a Compaq 420 56K PC CARD FaxModem and the Compaq driver works fine but the inf file does not include support for the MNP 10 or MNP 10EC (Enhanced Cellular)features of the modem. I don't know why Compaq did this it is one of the listed features of the modem. With out this support in the inf file windows will not inable the "use cellular protocol" box in the modem adv

anced features tab. The chipset in the modem is an RCV56DPV. I found an INF file on the ZOOM web site that is for the Zoom model 2975R (Rockwell)www.zoom.com/ts1/analog/rockwell2975_2976.shtml and forced win98 to install it as the driver and it works great and even enabeled the cellular protocol."
