at the color seemed off on some settings I chose. For example, when I scanned a color .html page I printed off the internet, the colors had a "ghost effect". Try clicking on START, CONTROL PANEL, SETTINGS, and PRINTERS AND OTHER HARDWARE, PRINTERS AND FAXES, and then right click on the name of your printer. Click properties and go to the color management tab. You can add an .icc or .icm color profile. I added the one that came with my monitor, but you can try others too. I don't have a "ghost effect", and it printed OK. For more information on this, look up "color management" under Windows XP Help. You may also want to see if adjusting the color from true color to 256K etc. helps too.

Kodak Imaging for Windows does not come with Windows XP. I had to copy the files needed from an older pc running Windows 98, place them in the correct XP folders, and then register the .ocx files manually.

When you first unzip the file, the dialog box was both in English and ?. Anyway, the installation wizard is in English.

come standard with Windows XP, but a search on the internet told me what files I needed to copy off my older computer running '98, where to put them in the XP folders, and how to register the .ocx fiels so it would work. If you have problems, you may want to check the setting on your parallel port too regarding the PS/2, EPP, ECP, etc. setting under SETUP when the computer first boots (press F2). I then found a program called "EasyScan" (freeware) and loaded that up. After a restart it recognised the scanner. To remove corruption of the file image I have changed the resolution settings for both horizontal and vertical to 200.
