"Works well on WinXP SP2 with Adaptec AHA-2920 and HP Scanjet 4c, but instalation is not smooth enough - have to select "show all devices" option and manually select device in device list after selecting inf file."

"As a retiree on a fixed income I GREATLY appreciate this driver. It has allowed me to keep using my HP Scanjet 5P. Buying new scanning hardware as a result of my upgrade to Windows XP was not in the budget. Thanks a bunch."

"Had to pick the drive to use from a list of drivers or XP would still use the existing driver which did not work to begin with. Ahhhh... Microsoft"

"Installed this driver on Windows 2003 Enterprise without much trouble. Just remember that you have to explicitly choose this driver for it to work correctly. Began working immediately without restart. Very Nice."

"Have a 2905/2920 w/ XP Pro on NTFS, it installed and seemed like it was going to work, until you try to access the CD-R, makes the OS VERY unstable, it also disabled all my power managment options, everything went back to normal when I removed the drivers. ("

"Success. Adaptec 2920 now working! At first, all I got was ".inf file is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor." Then I followed the suggestion to overwrite the inf and sys files in the windows directory, as per Ingo's posting. That worked and the Adaptec SCSI is now writing to a zip drive.

"I was nearly giving up trying to make it work.... but then I saw Chris´ post. Now it works!!! (I only have FAT32 harddiscs, I don´t know if it was the main problem) Quoting Chris "...so i did what an other guy told. to copy the sys in windows\system32\drivers and the inf in windows\inf. Now reinstall.. and success.." I hope everyone is also able to make it work... someday

"I found the driver did work for XP (home edition). You need to follow Thomas' direction (in the README) and use the "Have Disk" option. To get to "Have Disk" select "Install from specific location" (using the HW install wizard) and then "Don't search, I will choose". The have disk button is on the next window. Good luck to all. thxs to Thomas."

"Got it working. I had to do it Chris'as way it doesn't work to simply rename the original scsi.inf file in \windows\inf. IT IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO DELETE, OVERWRITE, or MOVE it to A DIFFERENT DIRECTORY and replace it with the Win2k version in this download. You might want to add that to the readme file. Once I did that, it was full speed ahead. Thanks everyone!"

"The reason this works for some but mostly not... the ones whom have it work for them are PROBABLY using XP on a fat partition, maybe upgraded to XP from 98 or ME... The rest of us have a clean install with a NTFS files system... THAT is the problem. ( In my best guess anyway"

"It worked a treat. My AHA2920 now works with XP. I just copied the files to their own folder and told the system where to find them. Of course they aren't digitally signed, but who cares - they work! Thanks!!"
