"This program did not set the drive parameters correctly in my BIOS. After 20 hours of trying I managed to manually set the BIOS parameters by fooling the CMOS into thinking I was using a different hard drive. Once I did that, the program and my BIOS agreed and things went smoothly. The system was an older Pentium 200 with Award Bios, about 6 years old."

"I wanted to use this driver to improve the speed of my Maxtor drive. However, the driver did not improve anything. This may not be the fault of the driver. The drive itself may be at fault.

However, after many hours of experimenting with different settings I gave up and gave away my drive! So the driver no longer has any relevance to me."

"Ok, I'm sure this would probably work with something, but it didn't work with mine. I have WinXp Home, I have a Maxtor 40GB 7200rpm UATA 133 drive, and the emulator ran fine. The only problem was, it said there were no devices what so ever. I couldn't proceed with the test, hopefully it is a good tool, but I wasn't able to get that far....."

"The install was a bit shaky, but once the bios saw the drive everything went well. Excellent in use - no hangs or crashes."

"This doesn't even seem like a driver. I just want to run my Maxtor Personal Storage 3000le on my WinXP OS but the driver is only for Win98. Lame! Anyone know how to do that?"

"This isn't a driver for Maxtor drives, it's some kind of bootable floppy disk. Not at all what I was looking for. Why don't Maxtor have the drivers available for download on their site?"
