"I hoped this BIOS upgrade would solve the problem of the Matsonic MS8308 mobo not being able to "see" IDE hard drives beyond 128GB, but alas... no luck.

Flashing the BIOS was a major undertaking. The mobo uses AMIBIOS, and I had to try about half a dozen flash utilities before I found one that would work with this mobo.
