Only needed if Windows 95 or 98 did not detect the devices as Intel 440MX controllers. This can be checked by clicking with the secondary mouse button the My Computer icon, then selecting Properties from the menu, clicking the Device Manager tab. In the list, now double-click the System Devices section and check for these devices:
PCI Standard ISA Bridge
PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge
Also check the Universal Serial Bus Controller section for:
PCI Universal Serial Bus
And check the Hard Disk Controllers section for:
Standard Dual PCI IDE Controller
If these exist in the list (names might vary somewhat), you may double-click the device, select the Driver tab and click Update Driver. Let Windows find the driver itself, do not force a driver installation!
