"I hoped this is the bios upgrade that would work, but it didn't. The bios flash utility and update is $30 from the the third party licensed by Award/Phoenix to handle product upgrades. Not taking that route, so the hunt continues."

you can flash while windows is running with this program.

PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS FIRST AND BACKUP OLD BIOS

i put the bin file and prgram on cd it reconized the bin file but i have not flashed the bios yet"

"See posting below. Because I did not receive a reply I did further searches and found the definitive update from the manufactures. It also gives clear installation instructions. "Flash" update at www.ecsusa.com/ecsusa/www.ecs.com.tw/download/k7vza10.htm Click on WinFlash Award Utility for installation instructions. It worked for me and others who have asked for advice.

"My bios is an Award Modular BIOS v6.00PGN bios. This is supposed to be an upgrade to the v6.00PGN. I flashed it in and the computer completely died. I cannot even reflash my old bios in because it won't boot to DOS. Doesn't even reboot when I short out the CMOS. Guess I have to buy a new motherboard. BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS PUPPY!!!!"
