"The zip file is difficult to unpack, the file isn't recognized by the Windows driver protocol and it does nothing to remedy the problem.

I'm still looking for something that will work and I'll post it when / if I do."

"This driver is labeled "sd604xpfix.zip" - However, the flash program is combined on a Windows ME bootdisk. This does NOT fix the driver for Windows XP! It is a Windows ME Firmware Flashing Program for the Samsung SD-604 DVD-ROM !!!!!!"

"Didn't work for me, though it apparantly has worked for others. Perhaps I did something wrong, though I tried to follow the directions. The DVD just won't work or even recognize the a DVD is in the drive."

"I am sick of this $&^&%$ up SD-604 DVD rom. I have wasted too many hours on this. I think I am at the ponit of buying a new one. This file was able to flas and it did recognize the drive as a samung sd-604 but still would not play any dvd. Will play cd audio, mp3s, data, etc. for if you want to watch a DVD...don't waste anymore of your time...BUY A NEW DVD DRIVER..t

"Hi, i have a SAMSUNG SD-604 DVD drive and i di as i was told in the instructions and it all went well after it said to restart my computer i did, but the computer will still not play DVDs, it will play anything else but not DVDs. ive got DVD software installed and everything and this is driving me crazy, i will greatly appreciate it if anyone has or knows anything to help

"i install this dvd sd-604 from other machine , i had install the driver software already, but can not play dvd movie, my computer is window xp. PLEASE show me , step by step to start over, to install dvd driver and how to make the dvd work. Do i have to download any software to decoder dvd ? thank you for your advice"

"Hi, I just wanted to vouch for this driver, it works. After installing WinXP Pro with service pack 1 I noticed my DVD playback was all choppy. I checked to see if DMA was enabled for the drive and it wasn't and it also wouldn't let me enable it. It was stuck in PIO mode. After downloading this driver and installing it, DMA is now automatically on and my DVD playback in now

The video is working great but I receive no audio. I have confirmed that the audio works with my tv tuner card, games, systems sounds, etc. but not for the DVD. "help!!!!..i followed your instructions for the files...i put the file in then i flashed the drive(i have no idea what that is but it told me to do it)im not familiar dos so could you please email me and tell me what to do...when i go into dos it seems to put the old format back so i dont know if im supposed to finalize the settings or what...please help!!!!!"
