This is for WIN 200 AND XP - and it works!
First, when choosing to download the file, select "open" and not "save."
Once you have downloaded the file it will look like a read-me type file.
Next, plug the USB cable into your computer and connect to your camera. Turn camera on to the PC position.
Now, go to your desktop screen and right click on "My Computer." Go to the "Hardware" tab and select "Device Manager."
In device manager you will notice that you have a yellow exclamation point next to a USB device. This USB device will be your camera. Double click on the yellow exclamation point and select "Update Drivers." Deselect the recommended option and select "Install from a list or specific location [advanced]" and then click "next." You will now need to select only "include this location in the search" and click on "browse." You will be given a screen that will show your desktop programs. Click on the "+" symbol next to my computer. Then click on the "+" symbol next to the C: drive. Click next on the "+" symbol next to "Documents and settings." Then click on the "+" symbol next to your computer user name. Finally, click on the "+" symbol next to My Documents. Once you have done this go to your driver window where you will have the file path "C:\Documents and Settings\(computer user name)\My Documents" entered in the bar next to the browse button. Click next and windows will do the rest.
SHORTCUT---Once you click on "Install from specific list or location [advanced]" you can simply type in the file path "C:\Documents and Settings\(your computer user name)\My Documents" and click on next."
