"Found drivers for "all sportster winmodems" at www.usrobotics.com. When I tried to run the install program on my win 98 system without a win modem, I got a message that the program would not work with my operating system. However, I extracted the down load to a floppy and tried it on my friend's win 95 system with the non functional Sportster Winmodem 28.8 just to see wha

t would happen. Rebooted the computer and when it found new hardware (the modem) I put the floppy in the drive and pointed the install program to look for the drivers there. It LOOKS like it upgraded the modem from a 28.8 to a 33.6 but I doubt that it REALLY did - I suspect all it did was change the modem type description in the device manager. None the less, the modem now works and my friend can get on line."
