"Downloaded and decompressed driver in the usual manner. When Attempting to install driver, unable to identity file used for installation.Installation failed. Attempted to update XP supplied generic driver with this driver.XP reports that their generic CD/DVD ROM driver is best choice for the device, which it is clearly not since not one of my burning applications was able

"I just downloaded this driver for a friend because HP would not let my friend download without payment from their site. What is HP thinking? Very poor customer support from their website. He just installed on a new system (vista) he is building and it work perfect."

"This one's a hoax. Nothing but links to something the uploader wants to get paid for on click-thrus. Even wanted to change my internet settings but my computer is set to warn me about that sort of thing ahead of time. I'm real disappointed that this person would be allowed to upload to this site. Still need this driver, though. Anyone know of a good working and safe site?&
