"cannot get any driver to work the scanner, have tried everything. xp will not allow it. I downloaded the file PB61248.zip and found that 2 files were downloaded - 12kCUusd Setup info (3kb)and USBSCAN System File 9kb. How do I open these to get a valid scanner driver. Please help."

"I was Asked if i could get this scanner working with windows xp, so downloaded this one, this driver has to be set up carefully, also this isn't the full driver, other files are needed for full install.

for better result download Mustek 1200cu driver."

"Driver didn't work on Windows 2000.

However the 1200cu_w2k (4.6MB) driver did work, but only after I installed it and then updated it from the MS Update website."

"I have got hold of the driver for the Mustek 1200 CU - This is the same scanner as the PB61248. I,ve installed the driver on Windows XP and it works fine. It's basically the same as the PB driver I was running under Windows ME. If anyone would like the driver please e-mail me and I'll forward it. NB. File is zipped 4.6mb."

"The Mustek 1200cub is the same sacnner as the PB61248. The XP driver pack on their site is much bigger than the two files supplied by Tom. About 6MB, whether they just contain extra software I dont know as you cant connect to their FTP! and I havent found anything that works yet!! ("

"I downloaded the zip and extracted to a folder, used 'have disk' to install and pointed it to the folder with the two files in it, windows XP wont use the driver. Help!!"

"Smiley Dan, you're me man!Cheers. I have been looking for the PB scanner driver upgrade, since i upgraded to WinXP. The XP drivers on the Mustek, doesn't work, but the W2K driver works fine for XP."

"You're right DaveD, it is a Mustek, the driver, software and scanner is repackaged as PB and sold on. You can find all downloads for the driver you need from www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/europe/1200cu.html Don't waste your time with the one offered on this page."

"not tried this driver but by using the FCC id of the scanner I found out it is actually a rebadged Mustek ScanExpress 1200CU (not the bearpaw version!) Download the W2K drivers from the Mustek website and it all works a treat! Tested it tonight!"
