"The zipped file only seemed to have a couple pdf's and the scanner software but no driver. My computer didn't recognize the driver even after a restart.

Not ruling out user error but I can't recommend it based on my experience."

"Works for me on XP home, but only if installed through the XP "add hardware" utility. I first tried the auto installation and got the same message as before - "connect scanner" or whatever. Editorial note the comments I see above are completely different from the ones I read earlier today when I downloaded - who edits these things?"

"Pfuu! completly inutile software ! this not the real drivers for 1212U under Xp, this is just the stupide Scanwize 2.0 software and not 100% compatible with XP and a 1212U scanner !!"

"I agree with the prior comments. This appears to be the scanning software, but not the drivers to detect the scanner itself. If anyone has actually found the driver I would appreciate an em."

"This is not the driver but merely the software it seems, because like with the 1.40 download on this site the driver fails to detect the USB device."
