"I've used this on XP, and it works great. You just need to unzip the files. And when using the installer built into Windows, select the folder manually. Then the scanner will work great."

"after downloading this driver it did not work, solution, after download, put it on a floppy disk, then go to device manager and reinstall from the disk, works fine no problems with the scanner at all."

"This driver does not seem to work well when you use the scan button.

Scans must be started with the edit software.

The 1.50 version has a much better user interface.

"The key for me was not so much the driver, but the USB connection. You must ensure that the plug is fully seated, not just when it stops going in. Part of the plastic plug itself must be inserted such that the fattest part of the plug is flush up against the body of the scanner."

"Downloded file o.k., unzipped folders but never was able to get the driver to my Memorex program. Twain driver appears corrupt. How about those of you that say it fixed your problem let us know the steps you took to do it?"

"this driver contains versions for several versions of windows, but the one for xp doesn't contain the .exe file. Just a bunch of useless junk."

"Just the bare bones needed to TWAIN import, no extra fluff, just the way I like it. (By comparison, most of HP's newest "driver" packages include 200 megabytes of extra cruft.)"

"Stephen Pickering's driver for the Memorex MEM48U downloads as a self-extracting .ZIP file. The file un-Zipped itself normally, and I was able to run the Windows XP Setup utility flawlessly on the first try.
